You will support your team of amazing Lodge Managers, providing guidance and expertise to ensure the developments are maintained to a high standard, and more importantly, our retired owners receive exemplary service.
We are Millstream Management Services (MMS), a progressive managing agent of privately owned leasehold Retirement Living accommodation.
We manage in excess of 191 developments - Nationally. That means we manage 7,557 apartments and provide our services to over 10,000 retired people.

About the role
We are looking for an Area Manager within Sussex to oversee a number of retirement housing developments, you will visit frequently and be a visible presence for both the onsite Lodge Manager and our Home Owners.
You will provide a first-class, cost-effective management service that meets our customer’s expectations and develop strong relationships with Home Owners and external landlords.
You will support your team by encouraging and inspiring individuals' personal development and team collaboration. You will undertake regular 1-2-1 meetings and performance reviews, in addition to ongoing coaching and guidance. As a brand ambassador, you will communicate the company’s values, and provide services of a consistently high standard.
You will also be confident with numbers, as your duties will involve controlling expenditure, producing budgets and accounts for presentation to the lessees and negotiating with contractors, and overseeing their performance.
This opportunity will see you joining an exceptional Area Management team, whose experience, diligent approach, and expertise are only equal to their passion and achievement.
The role is home base, ideally commutable around the Kent area, as extensive travel is expected in the Sussex Area. You will therefore need a full UK Driving Licence.
The hours of work are 9.00 am – 5.30 pm, Monday to Thursday and 9.00 am – 5.00 pm on Fridays.
We are looking for an experienced, dynamic, and enthused Manager from the property management, housing, retirement, or lettings sector. You will ideally hold a recognised property management qualification such as the IRPM / NFOPP or be qualified by experience.
It is important that you have a good working knowledge of leasehold property management legislation and building structures, in order to resolve any building defects and arrange contractors when necessary.
You will have a proactive management style and believe in leading by example, you will enjoy coaching individuals and inspiring your team to be the best they can be.
As an Area Manager, you must be self-motivated, able to handle conflict, problem solve and be ready to make business decisions when necessary.
You will be a clear and engaging communicator, who is able to build rapport with ease and will pride yourself on your organisation, planning, and time management skills. Confidence with IT packages such as Word, Excel and Outlook and a flexible can-do approach to your work is also key.
