Head of Service Charge Accounting

We have grown from managing just one development in 2006 to now managing 193 developments across the UK and seek a Head of Service Charge Accounting to take our Service Charge department forward to match our growth and vision “To be the best property management company in the UK”.

About the role
As part of the Senior Management Team reporting to the Managing Director, the scope of this role is both strategic and operational, a great opportunity to shape and improve processes, manage, motivate and drive forward an operational team and improve financial management information to the business as a whole.
You will of course manage and oversee the service charge function including the production of annual budgets and service charge accounts for each development along with managing the annual audit process. More importantly you will take responsibility for using the management information available to better inform the business and drive business efficiencies forward. Amongst other things this will take the form of processes being in place for the acquisition of new business, as well as the continual review and improvement of the financial processes and controls within the department so that financial information is accurate and provided to our Owners in a timely manner.
The hours of work are 9.00am to 5.30 pm on Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 5.00pm on Friday, with one hour for lunch.
About you
We’re looking for a strong leader with excellent people management skills, highly motivated and organised, with the ability to prioritise and work with other senior Colleagues to drive our business forward.  Due to the high levels of reporting, you’ll have previous experience of using Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous experience of using financial information to inform the business and drive business improvements would be highly desirable.
You will hold a recognised accounting qualification, AAT as a minimum,, have management experience within an office environment and be able to demonstrate effective change management.
Experience using software such as Qube Property Management System would be an advantage.
