Lodge Manager celebrates 10 years of service with her “second family”
25th January 2017
Angie Martin from Queen Elizabeth Lodge in Margate has celebrated 10 years of service for Millstream Management Services (MMS), the leading provider of retirement housing management services in the UK.
A large number of Owners and friends gathered in the Churchill Retirement Lodge at Laleham Gardens in Cliftonville, to celebrate the occasion with coffee and cakes. Members of the MMS management team were also there to present Angie with flowers and a special gift, before treating her to lunch.
Reflecting on her ten years as a Lodge Manager, Angie said: “I feel very fortunate to have spent so many happy years looking after Queen Elizabeth Lodge, and it’s the people around me who make it so rewarding. The Owners here are like a second family to me, and we’ve shared a lot of fun and laughter along the way!”
Having come from a community healthcare background, Angie wasn’t sure an “office job” would be for her when she first became a Lodge Manager 10 years ago. However, she soon discovered that she wouldn’t be spending too much time behind a desk, and is frequently out and about looking after Owners’ needs, as well as managing the everyday maintenance of the Lodge. She also oversees a regular programme of social events, from Movie Mondays and weekly exercise classes, to quizzes, bingo, and even special occasions like a forthcoming Pancake Day event.
Simon Crewe, Managing Director of MMS, said: “I’d like to personally congratulate Angie on the wonderful job she does at Queen Elizabeth Lodge as one of our longest serving Lodge Managers. Angie has spent 10 years putting Owners at the heart of everything she does, and it was a pleasure to join the community here in celebrating this milestone with her.”
