Millstream Management Services reaches 5,000 apartments milestone
10th October 2016
Millstream Management Services (MMS), the leading provider of retirement housing management services in the UK, has reached another big milestone in its development, as it now manages over 5,000 apartments throughout the UK.
Having celebrated its 10th Anniversary earlier this year, MMS has now grown to manage 131 retirement housing developments nationally, looking after 5,041 apartments and providing services to over 6,000 retired people. With recent additions to its portfolio including Tregolls Lodge in Truro, Cornwall and St John’s Lodge in Timperley, Cheshire, the company has ambitious plans to keep up its impressive growth and hopes to double the number of retirement apartments it manages over the coming years.
As well as managing all Churchill Retirement Living developments, around 20% of MMS business is managing retirement housing for both landlords and groups of Owners who have exercised their Right to Manage (RTM). RTM allows leaseholders to choose the manager of their block of flats, without the need to collectively purchase the freehold. This will continue to be a significant area of growth for MMS, as MMS already manages RTM developments in Devon, Norfolk and Derbyshire, alongside the ever-increasing number of new Churchill Retirement Living developments it will continue to take on in the future.
The MMS team has grown to over 160 employees based all over the country. Lodge Managers across all developments oversee safety and security for Owners, look after their day-to-day needs and help to co-ordinate hundreds of lifestyle events. Their responsibilities range further than ensuring the building is maintained, as they also create a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere. As well as providing a helping hand, the Lodge Manager becomes more of a friend to residents, providing companionship.
Simon Crewe, Managing Director of MMS, said: “I’m delighted to have reached another major milestone for Millstream Management Services with over 5,000 units now under management.
"More importantly, the wellbeing and happiness of all our Owners remains at the heart of everything we do, and by maintaining that approach I’m confident that we can continue our success over the coming years.”
